Road Trip Report

As luck would have it I have finally had a few weeks off. After months and months of twisting wrenches as an industrial private dancer it was road trip time!! The seventh annual Mt 7 Psychosis was to happen on the 23rd and 24th of July and the plan was to go have a good time racing. on the 20th Casey, Jodi, Grant and I headed to Ashly's place in Kimberly to hang out and ride the ski resort. The lift accesable at RCR Kimberly is fairly good, actually really good for $12. The trails are a little rough for a novice and still seem pretty new due to the amount of loose material on or around the trails. There is one trail(forgot the name) that was built a few years ago and features man made stunts which are built around the areas old mining features, the stunts were a little intimidating with only one run down the trail. After a day of riding in the screaming heat the group retired toAsh's place for cold beer's and hot dogs.
Thursday the 21st Casey and I headed for Golden and Jodi and Grant hit Panorama, The report from Panorama was nothing but good news, fast runs, fast lifts and good times. Golden was not so much fun, after a few laps on the race course I realized that it would be funner to due laps with the crew than seek bruises buy myself so I gracefully bowed out of race and headed to Kicking Horse resort on friday morning. Everyone was having a great day, not a lot of laps because of the long lift ride but the terrain was fun and the scenery couldnt be beat. The old race course that Justin Bateman built a few years back was in great shape and features a few bad ass sections that offered plenty of pinch flats and put a little fear into us all. The day ended a little abrubtly when Jodi went a little 10ft too far on a doubly and broke his butt and helmet. After we sent him off to the hospital I got a ride in by myself and got to ride a few of their long rock slabs, Awesome fun.
Saturday was spent watching the psychosis and drinking redbull, then we spent Sunday the 24th driving out to Whistler OI what a long drive... Casey and I bought three day passes for $100, we camped in pemberton for $14 a night and tried to keep it cheap. The trails in Whistler are kinda split between fast and cruzzy and dag nasty technical. The fast and cruzzy trails are a little over rated in my opinion but the technical trails are mind blowing, steep rock rides, drops, and awesome bridges that were just the right width and hieght to keep you on your toes. Casey had a great time and learned how to let go of the brakes and let'er run and I got a good sun burn on my butt.
So our four day trip turned into a two weeker and I'll post some pictures when I get em
